Dry Cell Batteries - Approximately three billion dry-cell batteries are purchased annually in the United States or about three-dozen per household.
To dispose of your batteries properly: tape posts at both ends, place in a clear plastic bag, and put on top of your recycling cart on your service day.
Sharps Program
Safe Needle Disposal is as Easy as 1 - 2 - 3!
Waste Management / HSS is proud to launch a new Sharps Home Delivery program for county residents. Residents are now able to conveniently and responsibly dispose of needles, lancets, and other Sharps from their own homes with WM/HSS new mail back containers in just three easy steps:
- All residents need to do is call WM/HSS Customer Service at (805) 922-2121 to request their free container, and a WM/HSS representative will deliver it to their home the following week.
- Simply fill the container with Sharps.
- Mail the container back for safe disposal using the pre-paid postage label provided. Make sure that you sign the form included in the side pocket of your kit. Contact WM/HSS Customer Service for a new kit! Limit one kit at a time.
